Since I wrote the piece about the war-mongering and the state of Britain’s armed forces four days ago more information has come to light. It’s worse than most of us think. If you want to know what is wrong with the British Army in 2024, here is the answer:

This is surely proof, if proof be needed, that the Army and probably the Navy and Air Force too have been subverted with many, if not most, senior officers having been influenced by courses under the aegis of an organisation called Common Purpose. One of its mantras is ‘leading beyond authority’, in other words taking your work and your organisation outside its authorised remit into areas you are not entitled to be in. Her words bear the stamp of Common Purpose. This amounts to the deliberate neutralisation of our defences.
